That day should be etched into your brains/datebooks/gcalendars because it marks the return of FNL.
I was just fwd'd this link to an LA Times piece. Not too much new info, and I still don't know what the deal is for people who don't have DirecTV. (I'm sure we'll be able to get episodes iiiillegally on bittorrent or whatever, but will they be up for purchase on iTunes?).
The more important question raised by the Times piece is what footprint DTV is looking to leave on the series. Case in point...
That promo, apparently the 4th released thus far, plays like some strange mix between Night of the Twisters and a live-action Nightmare Before Christmas. And I hope they don't get too biblical with Riggins' creepy pursuit of Lila Garrity.
On the other hand...

(sigh)
In a related confession, I still haven't watched the last episode from last season. Back when it aired, we still didn't know if the writers' strike meant the end of the series. Well for whatever reason, I just couldn't go through with watching what my be the last episode ever.
If it was initially meant to run in the middle of a longer season, I can't imagine anything too major happens. Still, maybe it's about time I exorcize this demon. Popcorn, anyone?

Last episode was pretty phoned in, especially for an impromptu season finale. The one before that I think was better anyways.
Season 3's about to heat up though
