Sometimes I use AMDAL as my personal diary and sometimes I treat it like a bully pulpit. This time I choose to do both in confessing my love for Mad Men and to demand that you watch it. For those who don't know, Mad Men is about a 1960's ad firm on Madison Avenue (I promise this little pun of a title is the worst thing about the show, and its not even that bad). The characters, the writing, and the style make it one of the best shows I've seen. The people at the Emmy's agree, giving it 6 awards including Best Drama and Best Writing.
I normally try to avoid telling you what to do, but I don't want to see history repeat itself here. Remember how we almost lost our beloved Friday Night Lights (FNL for you n00bs) to the TV gods? It's that serious. In fact, I may be so bold as to say this:
Man Men > FNL
Discuss.
Mad Men is currently in its 2nd season, though I recommend you watch Season 1 on DVD first. If you want it, you can borrow mine. Or we can do a slumber party at my place and watch all 14 episodes at once (sofabeds to come).
Sundays on AMC at 10PM and AMC OnDemand. Check your local listings.
