Jam of the Week: B.o.B. feat. Bruno Mars - "Nothing On You"

The song above reminds me of three things.
1) The best part about a line like "You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen" is that it's reusable, yet still (potentially) true
2) One of my favorite Drake lines: "You know a lot of girls be thinkin' my songs are about them. This is not to get confused, this one's for you"
3) B.o.B. is actually like 5'6", hence the cut-out style. Explains why he writes a song like this. Everyone needs a silver bullet in their back pocket, just in case
Lot of great videos, including one from AMDAL's favorite stoner, after the jump
KiD CuDi ft. MGMT & Ratatat - "Pursuit Of Happiness"
"MLR, this song's been on AMDAL before as JOTW, you're worthless as a blogger and a person." Well you're wrong and so stupid. At least partially. The JOTW from back then was his first cut of the video. Being the consumate artist, CuDi decided to release a video that fit his weirdo vision for the song. While I like pouring more champagne on bitches, I tend to agree with this video/ song pairing much more. My only question: When will Ratatat put out a video for "Wildcat"?
Bonus track: Kid Cudi feat. Snoop Dog - "I Do My Thing"
Reflection Eternal - "In This World"
Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek are back at it again and if you're a true hip hop fan, you'll have to appreciate this. The video's nothing special, but when you're Reflection Eternal, you get a spot regardless. Also enjoy their most well known song as the Old School JOTW below.
Chip Tha Ripper - "Like That"
Remember my buddy Chip? I guess he liked the shine I was giving him because he just put out this simple video that goes along with some very awesome lyrical skills over a classic beat. Want more? Check out his latest mixtape here (Spoiler alert: Awesome)
Nipsey Hu$$le - "The Hussle"
As often as I can, I try to put you AMDAL'ers up on new people. If you're a fan of the OG's from the West Coast (Dre / Snoop / etc), then Nipsey is one of the new and few representing for the West Siiiiide. He's got flow and a Snoop-like flow. Check him out here as well as on a few tracks off XXL's Freshman mixtape here.
Sidenote: B.o.B., Wale, CuDi, Asher Roth, Mickey Factz (signed to Mike S's label) were all 2009 XXL Freshmen. Pay attention when someone makes this cover.
Old School JOTW: Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek: "The Blast"
Going forward I'm going to leave this section pretty sparse, as the OSJOTW's usually speak for themselves.
Guilty Pleasure JOTW: New Dork: "Empire State of Mind"
Hits too many of our readers' demographics not to be featured here.

Umm.... I vividly remember emailing you to put Ratatat as a JOTW back in the summer of '09, along with Bloc Party, Mstrkrft, Postal Service, etc. Yet, no love for your girl! Can't we have JOTWs without videos?
Prove it. I couldn't find the email, though I did find this:

subject JOTW nominee
Dorrough- "Ice Cream Paint Job"
i love this song and I still can't figure out why. haha
It's true though, AOG emails me on a regular basis submitting jams sans video. While I opt for videos first (it's what I do!), I'm slowly adding in audio only as well, though usually as a bonus related to the videos.
AOG and AMDAL'ers, feel free to drop sickies beats in the comments for all to share. And AOG, keep pestering me. I'm picky about what goes in (Ice Cream Paint Job? Ding!) but not that picky so sooner rather than later you'll see one of your picks come up.
Thanks for reading all the way through though. Hope you enjoyed what I did end up posting.
only because you asked me to prove it to you...

it's just 2 guys who rock out. pretty impressive.
And for the record, "Ice Cream Paint Job" has blown up on the air & in the clubs. Every time I hear it I start laughing b/c you "um, absolutely not"-ed me about it making the AMDAL cut.
I always like your JOTW's, they're one of my favorite things about the blog.
Do you know who the song in the Coke commercial on the air right now is by? I really like it and cannot figure it out.
Got me on that ratatat call. Got me there, though I wish I had a video to throw into it. I hear their cd is good, along with the XX.
