Why do garbage truck drivers insist on displaying teddy bears they've salvaged on the exterior of their trucks? I find it incredibly creepy to see four or five dilapidated (derelicte?) bears mounted on the side or front grill of a trash hauler. Its got to be the saddest sight in the world-- all that love and youthful innocence, now lost forever. Plus they ALL do it. What gives?

Good question but for some reason it always makes me smile. I like to think it is their only chance to show off their softer side.
