Dear AMDAL Readers,
I come to you today with a request, and I can promise you that if you follow me to the promise land I'm about to unveil, it will end - as Michael Scott would say - in a win-win-WIN situation.
One Saturday a month, I volunteer at an awesome organization called the Lower East Side Girls Club, which focuses on helping low-income NYC girls prepare for college, gain exposure to cultural events, find mentors who will help them realize their potential, learn entrepreneurial skills, etc. Learn more here.
Now for the fun part. On Mardi Gras (Tuesday, February 16th), we're hosting an event to benefit the Girls Club and also Haitian relief efforts. It is awesome for 3 reasons:
Win #1) With your $22 advance ticket, you'll be simultaneously helping girls from NYC become more empowered while also helping those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
Win #2) You will do this while meeting hot charity babes. As a majority of the volunteers for the organization are female, this guarantees a high female - male ratio. Scos, I'm looking at you.
Win #3) Whilst romancing a hot do-gooder, you will be enjoying a free open bar from 7-8, the authentic New Orleans band "The Loose Marbles" and NYC’s Hungry March Band.

How come I've never heard you speak of these hot philanthropic babes whom you seem to regard so highly? Are you pulling a fast one on us?
How is the $22 allocated? This is terribly important. I mean, this is terribly important?
Could you let me know if any other AMDAL NYC contributors take you up on your offer? I ask this because I personally invited Rampage Jackson and Tastemaker to our Halloween Bash and they threw me the Heisman and ignored my email. Dammit, I mean, they threw me the Heisman and ignored my email?
I said I'll try my best to answer so here goes. No guarantees though.
You haven't heard about said philanthropy babes yet because I've been relationship building. I can't just be all "hey, attractive socially responsible female whom I just met, this is Scos. He loves fart jokes and porn." In a dark bar with a blaring jazz band, however, I assume you'll be able to dazzle them with your dance skills and good looks and by the time the whole porn/fart thing comes up, she'll already be smitten.
The 22 dollars will be divided between the Girls Club, a sister girls club in NOLA and the Beaty Coalition which provides relief to women and girls in Haiti though I don't know the exact breakdown as of yet.
CCL has already said she'll attend, pending you come. That's kind of a lot of pressure to perform, Scos. I bet TM and Rampage Jackson (best commenter name ever btw) will be more likely to come to this, as it's for a good cause, than Halloween, whose only purpose was to perpetuate frat boy culture/general costume sluttiness.
Fart jokes and porn? That's all I am to you? I am at 285 Random Thoughts and 90% have nothing to do with either, and yet I'm still the fart jokes and porn guy. Wow. Just wait till your Little Girls club finds about who the real Makens is. I can't wait for the gasps.
Pressure to perform? I've been in front of CCL many times - just ask her. In fact, I bet I've made her blush in person more times than anyone else on this blog.

Oh I'll be there! I never miss a reason to do good in the community and support a bestie/Athletic Supporter/AMDAL writer... plus it's so fun to watch Scos casually work porn, farts and other socially inappropriate topics into every day conversations :)

Yes, AOG and I have worked out a charity squid pro ro (name that movie). I have finally agreed to attending a GOTO event now that she's promised to come to mine. Helping the children by attending awesome parties is so hard!
I seriously wish I could come to this event to a) help the girls, as I've been working with a similar organization here in the Chi and b) see all you glorious AS individuals and hear Scos talk about porn, farts and his strong disbelief in the theory of global warming (yep, I went there).
