Jam Of The (Last) Week: Rihanna - "Rude Boy"

Due to semi-unemployment, the JOTW and many of my other responsibilities have fallen to the wayside. As payment, I'm offering up back-to-back Jam Of The Weeks. Get some.

Kicking it off is Rihanna's MIA wannabee video above. I like the song but I especially like Caribbean hip undulation. The song is suggestive so if you are sensitive to phrases such as "Cmon rude boy rude boy, can you get it up? Cmon rude boy rude boy is you big enough?" then you should move straight to this week's Guilty Pleasure JOTW, skipping over the break and the other equally offensive runners up.

CyHi Da Prynce - "Hard Way"

I watch a lot of videos on the internets to prepare for JOTW's, which means I have to rely pretty heavily on the names of the artists and the video screenshots. To tell the truth, if I see Drake or Kid Cudi, I don't even listen to the video before embedding it on AMDAL. CyHi Da Prynce doesn't have that cache. Yet. CyHi is another one of my long shots for up and comers. Last week he got some shine from Kanye's blog. He's also been popping up in other people's songs, like Yelawolf's "I Wish (Remix)" (video here). He's from ATL and sounds a bit like Young Jeezy but with better lyrics. Check him out and let me know what you think.

Bonus: Yelawolf, the dude in the video mentioned above, is also another guy to watch. While I don't think either the "I Wish" or another of his videos, "Pop The Trunk" are worthy of JOTW status, keep an eye out for him in the coming months.

Vampire Weekend - "Giving Up The Gun"

If anything, this video is a great example of why it still pays to read Hipster Runoff (Post here). People shit on Vampire Weekend for whatever reason, but this song is kind of catchy and everyone can appreciate Jake Gyllenhaal red heads in short shorts.

Old School JOTW: Wu Tang Clan - "Gravel Pit"

RZA was prominently featured in the Vampire Weekend video above, but didn't get a chance to flex his musical talent. Don't worry, AMDAL is here to help. Bobby Digital unleashed this video back in our high school years and while it doesn't truly represent the hard-guy-ness of Wu Tang, it's hard not to like.

Guilty Pleasure JOTW: Justin Bieber feat. Ludacris - "Baby"

Don't hate the tween player, hate the game. Luda is laughing all the way to the bank.

Looks like Firefox doesn't show the embedded top JOTW unless you click on the "Continue Reading" jump. Google Chrome doesn't have this problem and it also happens to be a better browser. If you're using Internet Explorer and aren't required to by Beutsche Dank or similar, then you should move on to another website for music and news, like AOL.com or something stupid.
