Unemployment Day 2: Movember!

In honor of my recent immersion into the world of unemployment, my proximity to Mountain Prep Man ErikJ and my love for wacky one month experiments, I'm growing a 'stache. So far, like the house, it looks like shit (pic after the jump). That said, I'm doing it. To achieve some sort of relevance, I've teamed up with the group below, called Movember, a nonprofit that helps raise money for the awareness and prevention of man-cancer (testicular, prostate).

If you're interested in donating, please click here or read more after the jump. No pressure. Thanks in advance - I look forward to sharing my experience as an AD pledge with you all.

The cat is ErikJ's but I use her occasionally for photo opps

I have decided to join a global movement that is bringing much needed attention to cancers that affect men. I’m doing this by growing a Moustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a moustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation. The funds raised go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LIVESTRONG).

What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 18-35. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved.

To make a donation, you can either:

• Click this link http://us.movember.com/mospace/255790/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account , or
• Write a check payable to ‘Movember Foundation’, referencing my Registration Number 255790 and mailing it to: Movember Foundation, PO Box 2726, Venice, CA 90294-2726.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund:

• The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance program which has the goal of improving survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40.
• Research initiatives to further understand the biology of adolescent and young adult cancers.

MLR- this is really sweet!!!*

* And by sweet, I mean in the "aww, look, a puppy!" sense, and in the "I'm so proud of you for putting your charming good looks aside to raise some money for a great cause!" sense too.

I have a feeling that your mustache will just make me smile and aks, "Soooo, how many more days are you doing this?" Looking forward up to the photo updates.

ooo. speaking of photo updates and your previous predilection for one month experiments, can we combine these two and have an update of your lunches (soups, frostings etc.) that are constantly finding their way into your Movember Mustache?

Bonus points if the foods are vegetarian and you take the pictures with a dumbphone.
