Over/Under Rated: Say It Like a Rapper

We all have been in a situation where you needed to tell someone something, but not sure of the way to say it. Or how. Or when. Or why. Oh the dilemmas!

In the great scheme of life- coming clean isn't easy, but doing it early always saves face down the road. I can think of about a million overrated ways to tell someone x, y or z, but it never comes across the way I wanted it to or leaves the recipient smiling afterward. I'll spare everyone the long list of overrated ways- just think of all the times your message didn't come across as you wanted it to.*

Along came Ellen and her idea to say "those things" using a voice altering mic, and I think she has tapped into the most underrated way to say just about anything*. Awesome, I want one of these asap. I know if we could get TPain and MLR together for a session, one sick JOTW would evolve.

Was anyone else surprised that TPain had those moves?!!?

Oh yeah, and he made sure that when someone said "yo! that was tight!", you can turn to them and say "word- there's an app for that."

Happy rapping, AMDAL iPhone carriers!

Maybe my own blowhard law school education is causing me to overthink the wrong things and not see the bigger picture, but how is this over/underrated?

Do you want me to post a comprehensive list of the overrated ways to say something? I didn't think it was necessary to list them out since most people know most of them. This wasn't meant to be a life altering post but something entertaining and fun.

Sorry that your blowhard law school education is making you over critical of everything

My comment was a genuine query regarding a lack of clarity, not a criticism. Criticism - unlike your post - is usually pretty self-explanatory.

The thing I like most about AMDAL is, content aside, it's always easy to see what the writers are trying to convey - usually an indicator that someone has writing ability. So I guess I can understand why you're getting so defensive.

Meow is right!

An aside: Maybe I'm just missing the irony, but why is T-Pain wearing a shirt that features history's worst mass murderer wearing an Uncle Sam top hat? And why doesn't anyone call him on that? Oh yeah, he's got those cool dance moves!

I bought the app last month but have yet to get it working. Kind of ironic that my short attention span both led me to simultaneously buy it and give up on it.

Or is that not irony?

Oooh a shiny object!

"Meow?" More like "Mao!" Right scos?

...sorry, that joke sucked.

To be fair, in the long and celebrated history of AOG fails, this one is hardly even worth noting.

I don't understand what is overrated or underrated. Ellen? Talking like a rapper? Autotune? Celeb cameos? T-Pain? The trend of mocking autotune? The backlash against the trend of mocking autotune? The irony that all these things happened in one episode that no one has ever watched?

To clarify: I legitimately wanted to know if people would have liked a list of overrated ways to say someting so I could edit/add them to the post. I went a little un-traditional O/U this time and I think it cause some issues with clarity- noted and will go back to the traditional manner.

No need to over think things here: The big picture, just a silly, fun post- something that I see on AMDAL all the time, literary content of each post aside.

No catfights on my end- simmer down boys.

Oh and spiteful Anon (s?)- you're becoming an embarrassment the good Anon name. I encourage you to get a moniker so we all can appreciate your dislike of the posts. Right now, it seems impersonal and useless - I can't figure out if you just hate me or if you are the same grumpy anon on all the posts.

Thanks! :)
