Giada's Watermelon Spiked Pops

Like many of my classmates, I spent much of my sophomore summer at Dartmouth strategizing how to extract the most fun out of each moment. Also like my classmates, many of these moments and strategies were spent under the influence of alcohol. In one particular flash of “brilliance” I came up with the idea of a beer popsicle… to somehow incorporate the summer’s key ingredient in a delicious cold dessert to be inconspicuously consumed at on-campus BBQs. Unluckily, or luckily, this frosty treat never made it past the conception phase.

Flash forward 5 years years later… life is a bit slower, much soberer and I’m watching the cooking channel. Giada De Laurentiis in all her Italian glory is concocting a delicious looking popsicle made with watermelon, sugar and vodka. It may not be beer but it sure looks amazing. So with the last big summer weekend staring us in the face, go celebrate, BBQ and be the most popular kid at the party when you make these watermelon pops!

If you don't have popsicle molds, use paper cups!
